লকডাউন ও করোনার চাপে বেকারত্ব বাড়ছে
নিজস্ব প্রতিবেদন : করোনা মোকাবিলায় লকডাউনের ফলে দেশের প্রায় সকল কর্মসংস্থানের সুযোগ থমকে দাঁড়িয়েছে। উপদেষ্টা সংস্থা সিএমআইই’র প্রকাশিত পরিসংখ্যান অনুযায়ী ৩ মে শেষ হওয়া সপ্তাহে দেশে বেকারত্ব’এর হার ২৭.১১ শতাংশ বলে জানা গিয়েছে। ঠিক আগের সপ্তাহে এর সংখ্যা ছিল ২১.০৫ শতাংশ। এপ্রিল মাস শেষ হওয়া পর্যন্ত এই সংখ্যা দাঁড়ায় ২৩.৫২ শতাংশে।
মার্চের শেষ সপ্তাহ থেকে বন্ধ হওয়া কলকারখানা আর চালু করার কোনও সুযোগই পায়নি লকডাউনের জেরে। ভারতে নব্বই শতাংশের অধিক কর্মী অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রের সঙ্গে যুক্ত। কাজ হারানো মানুষ আবার তাদের কাজ আর ফিরে পাবেন কিনা সেই আশঙ্কায় দিন কাটাচ্ছেন।
তার ওপর বিভিন্ন অচেনা স্থানে আটকে পড়ে তাদের কাছে থাকা অর্থ দ্রুত শেষ হয়ে যাচ্ছে। এমনকী নিজ রাজ্যে ফিরতেও রেল বা বাস ভাড়ার সঙ্গে অতিরিক্ত তিনগুণ চারগুণ অর্থ দণ্ড দিতে হচ্ছে। এতে তাদের সঙ্গে থাকা অর্জিত অর্থের সিংহভাগই ব্যয় হয়ে গিয়েছে।
তারা নিজেদের বেঁচে থাকার স্বার্থে জলের মতো অর্থ খরচ করে খাবার বা অন্যান্য দ্রব্যাদি সংগ্রহ করতে বাধ্য হয়েছেন। ফলে বাড়ি ফিরেও যে সহজে অন্নের সংস্থান করতে পারবেন সে আশাও নেই। কাজও নেই। কাজ কবে হবে সেই আশায় কতদিন বসে থাকতে হবে তার কোনও দিশা নেই। লকডাউন চলছেই।
দেশে লকডাউন ঘোষণার আগে পর্যন্ত বেকারত্ব ছিল ৮.৬ শতাংশ। দেড় মাসে এই সংখ্যা পেরিয়েছে ২৭.১১ শতাংশে। লকডাউন উঠে যাওয়ার পর অসংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রের পাশাপাশি সংগঠিত ক্ষেত্রেও ছাঁটাই হতে পারে। ফলে বেকারত্বের সংখ্যা আরও বাড়তে পারে বলে বিশেষজ্ঞ মহলের আশঙ্কা।
